This journey started last July in the Help for Heroes tin hut in Tidworth! First news of the fundraising Mongolian horse trek. It went live in about October & I signed up. Then the worries began. Could I get fit enough? How would my legs cope? Would anyone sponsor me?
In November I got back in the saddle, good job no one I knew was looking at that first ride. I started doing a lot of walking, delivering the local post during the Christmas snow. Early this year I started working with Elaine-God bless her patience! Pilates along with general fitness & it works. Now I am riding quite a bit & have managed several day long rides in the Brecons. I have also started to do some short rides with faster work locally which is great.
Friends, relatives & the general public have been very generous & I look like meeting my personal fundraising target so I may move the goal posts again.
So here I am three weeks from departure trying to start a blog for the first time and I won't even be able to up date it whilst I am enroute. Don't tell me, I know, I am crazy. What's new?
So for the next couple of weeks I will try & fill in some of the gaps of the past few months & at the same time keep you up to date with my preparations. I will of course also let you know how it all goes.
Now I think it is time I got on the exercise bike before the chaps, Roderick & George get in. Or I could write some thank you letters.
